Progress this month has been really good so far! I've just been developing puzzle elements, hazards, and making levels that require use of the new platforming mechanic I developed last week. In a short article this week, I'll show a couple of the levels I've designed thus far.
This one is rather simple, but it requires players to use the hover mechanic. You can't simply jump across the gap, so you have to hover.
This level is a bit more interesting. I wanted to play around with the idea of needing to change the direction of your hover in midair. This level requires you to do just that!
This is perhaps the most challenging level I've designed so far. Not only does it require players to hover over the gap, but timing is essential in order to avoid the lasers.
Next week, I'd like to get started on the art style. I have enough levels for a demo at this point, but I'd like for the game to look nicer than it does before I post the demo. I'm excited to show you what I have in mind! Until next week,
-Jay
